Giving Back
Giving Back, Nourishing Our Community
Rosemont Market & Bakery’s charitable giving program supports local nonprofits that help provide nourishing food to children and families facing food insecurity. We do this by redirecting surplus products from our kitchen and markets to trusted community partners who put good food directly into the hands of neighbors in need. This effort not only helps feed our community but also reduces food waste across our stores.
We are incredibly grateful for the support of our charitable giving community partners, Good Shepherd Food Bank & The Locker Project, which make this mission possible.
Community-Funded Initiatives
Because we’re all in this together, we created our Community Funded Initiatives to give Rosemont customers regular ways to help support our mission and our community.
Our kitchen products support Full Plates Full Potential, whose FEED Kids program works to ensure Maine children have consistent access to meals. A portion of sales from select Rosemont-made prepared foods goes directly to FEED Kids. The products change with the season, so keep an eye out in the store.
Our bakery supports The Locker Project, a Portland-based organization fighting food insecurity for kids and families across Maine. A portion of sales from select baked goods goes directly to The Locker Project. Look for the items in the store.
Our produce department supports Farms for Food Equity, a Maine organization connecting surplus farm produce with hunger relief organizations across the state, while also making sure farmers get paid. Together, we help make sure fresh, local food reaches people who need it most.
Our Community Impact
“Thank you so much for this generous donation. It is so greatly appreciated and will support the Somali Bantu Community Association to continue providing essential services to hundreds of people in the Lewiston/Auburn area.”
—Kristina Kalolo, Somali Bantu Community Association
“This donation will be so helpful as we fund our summer grants. As you might imagine, the need remains great and we’re working hard to make sure kids have a happier, healthier summer with consistent access to healthy, free meals.”
—Rebecca Dill, No Kid Hungry
