Located in the lively neighborhood of Thompson’s Point, Rosemont Market & Wine Bar embodies the energy of Portland with its laid-back atmosphere and attention to local food and great wine. Our wines are intentionally sourced from around the globe to include only products that offer the best flavor, a great story, and are produced using sustainable practices. We focus on small-scale agriculture and emphasize organic and biodynamic methods whenever possible. We seek to demonstrate diversity in our winemaker representation, and we are always on the lookout for new and interesting wines to bring to our community.
In addition to great wine, our bar menu highlights rotating, seasonally-driven small plates and pairings to our hand-picked wines. Behind the broad, 40-seat marble bar, our knowledgeable bartenders will guide our guest experience with trusted recommendations, joyful storytelling, and superb service.
Our buying philosophy behind the bar is an extension of what you’ll find on our retail market shelves. We strive to promote small-scale producers, domestic and abroad, that focus on organic and biodynamic agricultural methods. We favor balanced, unique wines, grown consciously with respect for the land and the future of the industry. While we love the classics, we’re not afraid to try something a little funky—skin contact, pet nat’s, canned wine. At the end of the day, we’re just looking for a great wine with a story to share. Meet the Team
Joe Watson, Wine Program Director
Joe has worked in every facet of the food chain before joining us here at Rosemont in 2019 as our Wine Director. His food journey began by managing an organic livestock farm in Vermont, then completing a butcher apprenticeship before heading off to the French Culinary Institute in New York. He’s now found himself among the shelves of our markets selecting wine for you to enjoy, or behind the bar at Thompson’s Point tasting a new discovery with customers. He’s happy to chat wine, food, or farming any time, and is always available to hear suggestions for the ever-evolving wine program here at Rosemont Market & Bakery.
Olivia Eckerson, Wine Bar Assistant Manager
After graduating from Northeastern University with a B.A. in English, Olivia spent a few weeks in Tuscany working on a biodynamic vineyard. The beauty of the landscape and process left her entranced, and she quickly realized that this was the career she wanted to pursue. Upon returning to the states, Olivia worked harvest at an urban winery in Boston followed by a large-scale producer in New Zealand. Most recently, she worked in Napa Valley as a wine educator for a luxury brand. Today, she is putting down roots in Maine to be closer to home. You can find Olivia at the Rosemont Wine Bar enjoying good conversation, wine, and community.
